Poking through the eye
I wrap the other end
around my finger and roll
Thread twisting into a knot
Placing fabric face to face
I join these odd cousins
My eyes stay on the seams
The needle flashes in and out
Pricking a finger now and then
I pause and observe
A drop on the fabric spread
The cotton draws it in
Pulling back I see
I've stitched the pieces onto me
I did not feel it stick or pull
As I donned this stealthy costume
